Born and raised in Rome, Italy, Sonia D’Ambra has been creating jewelry for as long as she can remember. As a teenager, she sold her early designs to fund backpacking trips across Europe — an experience that sparked both her independence and artistic voice. Her love of building and design led her to earn a doctorate in Civil Engineering, and later to Canada, where she works as a rock mechanics engineer in the mining industry.
Sonia’s deep understanding of metals, minerals, and gems has reignited her lifelong passion for jewelry making, transforming it into a refined form of wearable art. Inspired by nature and her European heritage, she experiments with metals, textures, patinas, and gemstones to craft distinctive rings, bracelets, pendants, and earrings that celebrate individuality and self-expression.
For Sonia, jewelry is more than ornament — it’s a personal statement, a reflection of emotion, and a connection between the natural world and human creativity. Committed to sustainability, she incorporates recycled materials whenever possible, blending technical precision with an environmentally conscious artistic vision.
